This Privacy Policy explains how Globutor ("Globutor", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our platform, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), and other applicable data-protection laws.

• Account information: name, username, email address, password (stored encrypted), and optionally your phone number, country, city, gender, and date of birth.
• Profile content: your bio, profile photo, subjects, languages, and any content you post (videos, images, captions).
• Usage data: how you interact with the Service, including content viewed, sessions booked, and engagement signals used to personalise your feed.
• Transaction data: payment and payout details processed through our payment partners. We do not store full card numbers.
• Technical data: device, browser, IP address, and similar diagnostic information.

3. How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
• To personalise your learning feed and match learners with tutors.
• To process bookings, payments, and tutor payouts.
• To verify your identity and keep the platform safe.
• To communicate with you about your account, including verification and security notices.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Lawful basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective platform, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: service providers who help us operate (for example hosting, payment processing, and media delivery); other users, to the extent your profile and posts are public; and authorities where required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption of passwords and secure connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age required by your local law to consent to online services without parental approval. Where a minor uses the Service, it should be with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection.
